Job Description:

This position involves performing repetitive machining tasks such as sawing, drilling, grinding, threading, and cleaning on various metal materials. Working from prints, travelers, and instructions, the role includes selecting materials, checking dimensions with measuring tools, deburring parts, and making necessary adjustments to meet specifications. Operators are expected to perform first-piece and in-process inspections, use cranes or carts to move materials, and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Job Responsibility:

Perform repetitive machining tasks (sawing, drilling, grinding, threading, cleaning) on various metal materials
Work from prints, travelers, and instructions
Select materials
Check dimensions with measuring tools
Deburr parts
Make necessary adjustments to meet specifications
Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
Use cranes or carts to move materials
Maintain a clean, organized workspace
Setup and change part programs on machines
Prepare machine to change over to a different product
Change out chuck jaws unassisted
Change tooling and inserts
Operate and maintain multiple machines if automatic
Operate machine in accordance to standardized working practices
Follow machine safety operating procedures
Maintain a specified production rate
Report quantity processed on job router
Report quantity processed using current ERP reporting system
Read and interpret work instructions
Know acceptable and unacceptable quality levels
Gauge and visually inspect parts as required by SOP
Perform operator maintenance (adding coolant, lubrication, hydraulic oil)
Report mechanical problems, broken tooling, or items needing repair
Participate in and support all company Quality and Safety Programs
Perform all other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Requirements:

Requires standing
Repetitive use of both hands
Constant awareness of surroundings
Requires pushing/pulling/lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
Familiarity with both imperial and metric measurements
Ability to cross-train on other machines
Assist in maintaining workplace safety
