Machine Operator-Fabricator

• Wear proper PPE at all times
• Use various machines such as press brakes, sheer, band saw, cold saw, punch presses, drill press, and other metal equipment to cut, form, punch, and bend per shop drawings
• Use proper lifting techniques for individual and team lifting
• Operate a forklift
• Make sure all products are labeled
• Make sure product labels correspond with job traveler
• Bring quality issues to the attention of the Fabrication Shop Lead
• Follow good housekeeping practices in keeping work area clean
• Perform assigned duties following safe manufacturing processes and conform to shop safety rules
• Perform miscellaneous duties at the request of the Fabrication Shop Lead or Plant Manager
• Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and follow the setup and adjustments of machines
• Read and follow specifications, shop drawings and job travelers with the help of the Fabrication Shop Lead as needed
• Report any equipment or machines in need of maintenance to Fabrication Shop Lead
• Ensure the completion of all required data entry or production paperwork

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 1 to three years of related experience and/or training
• or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience with power tools and hand tools
• Ability to drive a forklift
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to learn and operate in an ERP environment
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and/or small group situations
• Must speak, understand, read, and write English proficiently
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to perform basic calculations using a calculator
• Must be able to read and use tape measure
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
• Physical ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk, hear, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use foot/feet to operate machine
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
• Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• Willingness to work required overtime
