Job Description:

Key leadership role managing a team of 10-15 employees dedicated to day-to-day operations of a Plate Processing department in an innovative steel fabricator.

Job Responsibility:

Supervise and lead production staff providing training, task assignments, and ongoing support
Oversee setup and operation of CNC plasma, laser, and oxy-fuel cutting machines ensuring precision and accuracy
Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet quality, safety, and efficiency standards
Monitor and manage inventory of raw materials and finished products
Utilize ERP systems to track performance, manage reporting requirements, and maintain accurate work records
Troubleshoot machine and system issues to minimize downtime
Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and best practices
Maintain a clean, organized work environment and oversee rigging operations

Requirements:

Degree in a technical field and/or 3–8 years' experience in steel construction
Strong knowledge of welding, fabrication, and assembly processes
Working knowledge of Tecoi Lazer, THOR, Teknos 32 & Turret, Teknos 73, Viking, or similar plate processing and cutting equipment
Solid understanding of production cycles, automation concepts, and safety regulations in steel fabrication
Proven leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate, train, and manage shop personnel
Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making abilities
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel), ERP/company management software, and reporting/documentation requirements
Reliable, organized, and adaptable, able to manage multiple priorities
