Job Description:

The position involves preparing and cooking food according to recipes and standards, monitoring food quality, operating various kitchen equipment, and ensuring cleanliness of the kitchen area. Additional responsibilities include maintaining safety standards, proper communication with colleagues, and adhering to the Ritz-Carlton's Gold Standards.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food
wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables
weigh, measure, and mix ingredients
prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation standards
prepare cold foods
operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers
test foods to determine if they are cooked sufficiently
monitor food quality
set up and break down work station
serve food in proper portions
wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment
check the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food
follow company safety and security policies
report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions
maintain uniform and personal appearance
develop positive working relationships
adhere to quality expectations and standards.

Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
at least 1 year of related work experience
ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or throughout an entire shift
ability to lift, carry, push, pull objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
knowledge of food preparation and cooking methods
ability to operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers
adherence to safety and security policies
ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships
ability to adhere to quality expectations and standards
clear and professional communication skills.
