Mowi is seeking a strategic and highly experienced leader to oversee end-to-end U.S. import compliance, customs operations, and domestic logistics. This role requires deep expertise in CBP regulations, trade compliance, international freight management, and supply-chain optimization, with a proven ability to design and execute compliant, cost-effective import programs that drive operational excellence, ensure business continuity, and support long-term growth. The Logistics Manager will serve as a pivotal leader, integrator, and influencer, orchestrating daily import and shipping operations while delivering world-class On-Time and In-Full service to our customers. This position ensures full compliance with U.S. Customs and FDA food safety regulations specific to the seafood industry.
Job Responsibility:
Partner with the Director of Logistics and Customs Imports to assess, develop, and ensure full accountability across the team
Anticipate talent needs and align workforce planning with projected company growth
Operate independently with strong technical competence, attention to detail, and a fast learning mindset
Lead through influence while upholding Mowi’s operational standards and performance expectations
Act as a catalyst for change by identifying and executing cost optimization and productivity improvement initiatives
Leverage evolving technologies, including Power BI visualizations and AI platforms, to enhance decision-making and performance
Maintain working knowledge of CFR, HTSUS, and applicable reciprocal tariff schedules within the refrigerated and perishable food industry
Ensure daily import operations are executed efficiently and in full compliance with all regulatory requirements
Demonstrate experience with CargoWise customs modules (ABI software) for processing U.S. customs entries through ACE
Engage and guide the team to execute all import-related duties efficiently on a just-in-time basis
Manage day-to-day import activities, including customs clearance, freight routing, transportation scheduling, and final delivery coordination
Develop logistics strategies in collaboration with the Director, identifying improvement opportunities to increase transportation productivity and reduce cost per pound
Offer elevate operational execution through data intelligence, enhanced KPIs, and performance measurement tools
Collaborate with logistics and technical teams on dashboard design and data visualization to maximize technology utilization
Lead route engineering efforts to optimize transportation loads and reduce delivery costs
Continuously assess market trends to identify risks, constraints, and opportunities
Negotiate effectively with carriers and transportation brokers to optimize the service provider portfolio
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and agents, serving as the primary point of contact for logistics issues
Drive on-time delivery performance to best-in-class levels
Prepare monthly operational and financial reports
Conduct financial analysis and variance reviews related to expenses, service levels, and quality
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or corporate roles, ideally within the perishable/food industry
Proven experience with U.S. customs clearance, regulations, and CargoWise Customs Declaration module
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and act on large datasets
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Power BI
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High-level mathematical aptitude and attention to detail
Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop teams
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Finance, or related field
