Job Description:

Aurizon's Bulk team continues to grow as we expand in regional NSW and progress mobilisation to deliver for our new long-term rail haulage contracts. In this latest stage of mobilisation, we have exciting opportunities available to be part of Bulk's NSW growth story in Broken Hill. Aurizon and Team Global Express (TGE) have signed a major long-term national contract. This partnership with a cornerstone customer will see Aurizon secure a key position in Australia’s growing containerised freight market. The contract provides for Aurizon rail linehaul services connecting the state capitals of Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.

Job Responsibility:

  • Operation of locomotives including mainline, shunting, and marshalling
  • Examine and certify trains as ready for departure
  • Work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures
  • Maintain a high level of on-time running
  • Prepare and conduct brake testing on locomotives
  • Provide high quality customer service to enable Aurizon to meet its set business objectives

Requirements:

  • Strong commitment to safety and Aurizon’s safety strategy “I Know Safe, I Choose Safe”
  • Must be available to work 24/7 shift roster
  • Experience in NSW & SA Safe working System is advantageous
  • Extensive freight and/or heavy haulage locomotive driving experience
  • A Certificate IV in Rail Operations (or equivalent)
  • Current unrestricted Class C drivers’ licence
