Robert Half Legal is recruiting a Litigation Secretary for an international law firm client in the Silicon Valley with a leading intellectual property (IP) and commercial litigation practice. This is a direct-hire opportunity with hours of 37.5 per week (sometimes overtime). Candidates must meet the stated requirements, and prior experience in litigation and IP is preferable. Our prestigious client offers a base salary of $85,000 - $125,000+/yr (DOE), employment benefits, and other perks.
Job Responsibility:
Assist attorneys in their daily tasks
manage legal files
conduct computer research
create and manage exhibit lists
draft legal correspondence and pleadings
schedule appointments efficiently
Requirements:
At least 2 years of experience formatting and finalizing pleadings for e-filing (or manual) in Federal & state courts
experience in tables of contents (TOC's) and tables of authorities (TOA's)
case management, trial preparation and procedure
discovery and large document productions
calendaring
proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, and Excel), PC Docs, and PDF/Adobe
detail-oriented
very organized
excellent verbal/written communication
dependable
timely
efficient
team player
a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Litigation Legal Secretary
demonstrated ability to assist attorneys in their daily tasks
proficiency in using billing software for attorneys
prior experience in civil and commercial litigation
strong skills in conducting computer research
familiarity with court filings and court rules
knowledge of both state and federal courts
competence in e-Filing
experience in creating and managing exhibit lists
ability to draft legal correspondence and pleadings
proven experience in managing legal files
prior experience working in a major law firm is a plus
ability to schedule appointments efficiently
familiarity with the service of process
Nice to have:
Experience supporting IP litigators in patent infringement lawsuits
experience in Intellectual Property Litigation is desirable
prior experience working in a major law firm is a plus
