We are looking for a skilled Linux Engineer who will play a key part in stabilizing and modernizing Linux systems while preparing them for a seamless transition to Azure. Your expertise in system upgrades, performance optimization, and containerization will be essential as we work to enhance the reliability of our infrastructure and streamline operations.
Job Responsibility:
Address and resolve Linux system stability issues through patching, repository cleanup, and operating system upgrades
Transition CentOS systems to Alma 9 or Ubuntu, ensuring workloads are optimized for Azure integration
Manage and optimize PostgreSQL servers, including hardening, performance tuning, and web server configurations
Containerize services with native dependencies, such as ImageMagick, Tesseract, Ghostscript, and wkhtmltopdf, to improve scalability and reliability
Safely decommission older servers by breaking down legacy systems and consolidating workloads
Design and implement cloud storage solutions for large-scale image data, supporting compatibility with applications and databases
Collaborate on Azure foundation work, ensuring infrastructure is prepared for a cloud-first approach
Monitor and stabilize custom web services, addressing dependencies and improving performance
Enhance the security and performance of Linux environments through system hardening initiatives
Support application and database compatibility during modernization efforts
Requirements:
Strong experience with Linux systems, including CentOS and Alma Linux
Proficiency in patching, repository management, and operating system upgrades
Familiarity with Azure integration and virtualization technologies
Solid understanding of PostgreSQL, including server hardening and performance tuning
Experience containerizing services with tools like Docker or Kubernetes
Knowledge of custom web services and troubleshooting native dependencies
Ability to design and implement scalable cloud storage solutions
Expertise in system security, including hardening and performance optimization
