About the Job We are looking for a Licensed Millwright at our Walker Compost & Packaging Facility in Arthur, ON. Our millwrights perform preventive and curative maintenance on a wide variety of mobile and fixed plant equipment at our site in Arthur, ON. This position will be reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. The wage for this position is $43.00/hour.
Job Responsibility:
Inspecting machinery and equipment to detect defects and irregularities
Using welding equipment and power tools to fabricate parts during maintenance or set-up of machinery
Interpreting blueprints and schematic drawings to follow work procedures
Troubleshooting in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications and requirements
Repairing or replacing defective components using hand and power tools
Designing, welding and manufacturing custom parts when needed
Performing PMs
Exercising good judgement and discretion in prioritizing maintenance repairs
Demonstrating a strong commitment to established safety protocols and best work practices
Requirements:
Millwright license, completion of an apprenticeship program in industrial machinery repair or millwrighting
Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to details makes sure work is done correctly and thoroughly. Keeping accurate records
Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety and environmental regulations and legislation
Able to work with limited supervision and to take discretionary action as required
Nice to have:
Experience as a heavy duty equipment mechanic (421A) is an asset
