We are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. In this role, you will provide critical support to our legal department, focusing on real estate-related matters. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Job Responsibility:
Assist attorneys with the preparation, review, and organization of legal documents related to real estate transactions
Conduct research on legal issues and provide summaries for attorney review
Maintain and update case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and easily accessible
Communicate with clients, vendors, and other parties to gather necessary information and coordinate activities
Schedule meetings, hearings, and appointments, while managing attorneys' calendars
Draft correspondence, reports, and other legal documents as needed
Ensure compliance with legal procedures and deadlines by monitoring case progress
Provide administrative support such as answering calls, managing emails, and handling office correspondence
Review and process invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably in real estate law
Strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures
Proficiency in legal research and document management tools
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in legal studies or a related field
