Are you currently working in the Plumbing industry, and want to use your skills and experience to train the next generation of Plumbing experts? Well you can with our training and support! We have the opportunity for you to work with us part-time on a fixed term contract up to July 2026 whilst you train as a Lecturer. This would mean you would be paid to work for us 2 days a week and keep earning in industry whilst you train. Once you have successfully completed the initial teacher training then you would be able to progress to a Full Time Lecturer - Plumbing and join our team on a full time, permanent basis. Our Plumbing Department, based at our accessible Rush Green Campus, are preparing young people and adults across the Plumbing discipline to enter the workforce. You'll provide inspiration, skill, knowledge and practical experience to students across our department's courses. You'll also contribute to the development of our course offer, building on our innovative provision.
Job Responsibility:
Plan and develops lessons, including the development of schemes of work
Develop and implement learner-centred assessment methods, with focus on constructive and development feedback for our students
Encourage, monitor and report on the attendance, progress and achievements of students
Ensure safe working environments for students and colleagues, enforce health and safety standard in your area, ensuring all students understand and comply
Undertake personal coaching and pastoral responsibilities for designated students in order to support them in their own development and future progression
Keep abreast of industry developments in your specialist area to ensure the relevance and continued employability of our students
Actively participate in continuing professional development around theory and practice within the education sector
Requirements:
Currently working in the Plumbing industry
Good administrative skills
Ability to accurately track students' attendance, progress and achievements
Passionate about upskilling the future generation in the subject
Must submit a covering letter demonstrating how personality, skills and experience meet the role's values
Application form must be fully completed, showing full education and employment details
Must become familiar with the College's policies and comply with safeguarding requirements
Must complete mandatory training in relation to KCSIE and other key areas

Must pass enhanced DBS including Childrens Barred List check
