The School of Pharmacy and Life Sciences offers high quality teaching, research and CPD across a range of subject areas. Our course portfolio is broad and includes our recently GPhC reaccredited Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) as well as BSc courses in Biomedical Science, Biological Sciences, Forensic Science, Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Science and MSc courses in Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology and Biomedical Science. We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Pharmaceutical Science to join the team to contribute to the teaching across the School and contribute to the future development of our portfolio.
Job Responsibility:
Contribute to teaching across the School
Contribute to the future development of our portfolio
Contribute to the development and delivery of innovative learning and teaching, informed by research or professional expertise
Requirements:
Minimum of a first degree in a related discipline
Doctoral level qualification in a relevant area, or similar professional experience
Developing track record in research in a relevant field, including research outputs
Some experience of attracting financial support for research via external sources
Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. FHEA or PGCertHE) or willingness to undertake such a qualification
Expertise and ability to contribute to areas of teaching which include the general scientific principles which underpin the biological or chemical aspects of drug discovery, design and development
Nice to have:
Industrial or research experience in drug discovery, design and development
Research that would complement the current activity within the Faculty of Science and Engineering
