Deputy Manager role for a new home, looking after Young People with mild to moderate learning disabilities. Shift patterns are on a rolling rota basis (07.30am-23.00pm per shift).
Job Responsibility:
Helping to create a positive environment for each young person with particular reference to his/her safety, health and education
Helping to carry the homes ethos and values through to the young people and represent Blue Mountain Homes as a professional
Maintaining good professional practices in accordance with Ofsted Regulations and the Quality Care Standards for children’s homes
Engaging in the effective delivery of residential childcare in accordance with Company policies and procedures
Managing the Home in the absence of the Registered Manager
Working on the floor alongside Children’s Residential Care Workers and the Young People
Sleep in shifts are essential for this role
Requirements:
Experience working in a Children’s Home
Already achieved the Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Residential Care
Valid manual UK/EU Driving Licence
Experience working with Autism, ADHD and non-verbal and knowledge of Makaton or PECs is desirable
Commitment and a desire to bring about a positive change in the lives of young people
Nice to have:
Experience of working with Autism, ADHD and non-verbal and knowledge of Makaton or PECs
