Job Description:

Deputy Manager role for a new home, looking after Young People with mild to moderate learning disabilities. Shift patterns are on a rolling rota basis (07.30am-23.00pm per shift).

Job Responsibility:

  • Helping to create a positive environment for each young person with particular reference to his/her safety, health and education
  • Helping to carry the homes ethos and values through to the young people and represent Blue Mountain Homes as a professional
  • Maintaining good professional practices in accordance with Ofsted Regulations and the Quality Care Standards for children’s homes
  • Engaging in the effective delivery of residential childcare in accordance with Company policies and procedures
  • Managing the Home in the absence of the Registered Manager
  • Working on the floor alongside Children’s Residential Care Workers and the Young People
  • Sleep in shifts are essential for this role

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a Children’s Home
  • Already achieved the Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Residential Care
  • Valid manual UK/EU Driving Licence
  • Experience working with Autism, ADHD and non-verbal and knowledge of Makaton or PECs is desirable
  • Commitment and a desire to bring about a positive change in the lives of young people
