Job Description:

Summerland Farm is seeking a capable and hands-on Farm Services Leading Hand to support daily operations across our large avocado and macadamia orchards and to lead a small team delivering farm service contracts across the region. This is a practical, leadership focused role suited to someone with strong agricultural experience, confidence with machinery (including tractors and harvest equipment), and a passion for safe, high-quality farm work. As part of Summerland Farm’s diverse operations, you’ll work alongside teams in horticulture, tourism, food production, retail, and maintenance gaining exposure to multiple business units and contributing to meaningful employment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support orchard activities such as harvest, pruning, irrigation checks, pest and weed control, and seasonal readiness
  • Coordinate and guide a small crew to deliver off-site commercial farm services
  • Plan and prioritise work in changing weather conditions and seasonal demand

Requirements:

  • Practical experience in farming, horticulture, or orchard operations
  • Confident machinery operation (tractors, implements, harvest equipment)
