The role of Lead Technical Advisor directly supports the company’s mission to develop and deliver clean power plants that make 100% renewable energy a reality for the world. The Lead Technical Advisor (Lead TA) is a key technical leader responsible for providing advanced expertise and guidance throughout all phases of project execution—from port operations and site deliveries to wind turbine installation and final turnover.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure compliance with Nordex safety protocols and procedures during all operations
Act as the lead technical lead on assigned projects, providing guidance and coordination for Technical Advisors and subcontractors
Collaborate with Site Managers and TA Managers to plan and oversee project activities
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for complex installation challenges
Ensure strict compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements
Conduct on-the-job training for Technical Advisors and contractors
Set clear expectations for team performance and quality
Mentor and coach Technical Advisors
Participate in site meetings, provide detailed reporting on technical and quality aspects
Monitor project progress, identify risks or deviations, and implement corrective actions
Support knowledge sharing and contribute to the development of training materials and processes
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of mechanical/electrical/construction supervisory experience
Wind Farm mechanical construction experience preferred
Degree in technical or engineering field, or equivalent work experience
Extensive experience in quality management and quality control processes, with a strong background in Wind Turbine Assembly and installation
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications for project management and reporting
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed for project coordination and supervision
Ability to dedicate significant time to wind farms during the construction process, overseeing and coordinating project activities
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interface with customers, contractors, and project stakeholders
Demonstrated experience in WTG on-site assembly and installation, with a deep understanding of mechanical and electrical components
Willingness to travel extensively, with over 80% travel required
Ability to meet specific OSHA and ANSI weight limits of 250 to 300 lbs. max for on-site activities and inspections
Proven leadership skills, project coordination experience, and the ability to lead a team of supervisors effectively
Ability to prioritize work, multi-task efficiently, meet deadline obligations, prepare reports, and outline what is best practice
