Job Responsibility:
To work collaboratively with the Academy leadership team to improve outcomes, inclusion and equity for students with EAL and Global Majority students
Support colleagues to develop their knowledge of the linguistic, cultural and religious backgrounds of students with EAL and their families and the social and political factors which affect their lives
Work collaboratively with the literacy lead on the development of EAL focused strategies to be used across the curriculum and on developing a range of ‘best practice’ methods to deliver targeted research-driven curriculum support
Lead development links with the community to ensure that parents/carers of students with EAL and of Global Majority feel included in academy life and have accessible pathways of communication with the academy
To work collaboratively with other academies across the trust to share ‘best practice’ and advise on strategies to support students with EAL and of global majority
Team Leader for EAL interventions and to provide a base for interventions and pastoral care for EAL and Global Majority students
Lead the MFL faculty on EAL curriculum development through providing Subject Improvement sessions
