Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is looking for a Lead Structural Analysis Engineer to join our Air Dominance team in Hazelwood, MO. This program is on the cutting edge of development supporting the Next Generation of fighter aircraft. We are looking for a qualified structural analysis engineer with experience in full scale testing, component testing, test instruction authoring, correlation analysis, and FEM verification activities. This person must be able to work 100% independently.
Job Responsibility:
Lead a team of Structures Engineers developing test plans and configurations in support of full scale static test
Support test execution and analyze test results to validate and verify structure meets requirements
Coordinate with internal/external customers and other stakeholders and ensure alignment with ASIP and other requirements
Mentor and provide technical support as required
Work independently with minimal oversite.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
Level 4: 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
Level 5: 14 or more years’ related or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
Advanced expert knowledge of aircraft structure, materials strength and properties, design and manufacturing requirements, loading conditions and processes
Experience with setting criteria for certification, testing and allowables development, loads and analysis, and creating innovative solutions to complex problems
Successful developmental effort noted for technology development of advanced tools, processes, materials and configurations
Mentoring of early and mid-level career engineers and consultation/direction of work for other similar platforms, programs or business units
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
This position requires ability to obtain Special Program Access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.
Nice to have:
Knowledge and experience with fixed wing military aircraft platforms
Experience with software/tools used for structural analysis
Ability to understand and write engineering reports based on analysis results, test findings and maintenance reports
Strong oral and written communications skills
