Job Description:

Aurora St. Luke’s is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to lead our Cardiac MRI program. You’ll work with advanced Siemens and GE technology in a collaborative environment focused on innovation and excellence. As a Lead Technologist with Cardiac focus, you’ll oversee cardiac imaging protocols and staff training to ensure consistent, high-quality results. You’ll support technologists, troubleshoot complex cases, and drive process improvements.

Job Responsibility:

  • Acts as a resource to employees and students
  • Assists with human resource responsibilities
  • Assists in interpreting department policies and procedures
  • Serves as a technical resource, role model and/or preceptor
  • Proficiently operates MRI equipment
  • Obtains medical history from patients
  • Post-processes images as directed
  • Oversees the maintenance of records
  • Identifies equipment performance issues
  • Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties

Requirements:

  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) registration and certification issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months
  • Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Radiologic Technology
  • Typically requires 5 years of experience in Imaging as an MRI Technologist
  • Advanced knowledge of cross sectional anatomy and magnetic safety
  • Proficient in intravenous (IV) and venipuncture (if required by facility)
  • Advanced knowledge of accreditation policies and procedures
  • Ability to act as a role model and to hold staff accountable to Aurora's service commitments
  • Demonstrated leadership skills such as delegation, team building, managing multiple priorities, problem solving, and decision making
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and patient service skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist
