Job Description:

The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Job Responsibility:

  • partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements
  • resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards
  • provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint
  • utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
  • develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals
  • provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions
  • serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary
  • appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
  • lead development for scalable, resilient and high performance system using Java, Spring Boot, for RESTful API development for communication between microservices, ensuring efficient data exchange and system integration in cloud (AWS/OpenShift) environments
  • lead to implement secure authentication mechanisms using JWT, OAuth and role-based access control (RBAC)
  • lead team working on NoSQL (Mongo DB), relational databases, MySQL, Oracle for data management and analysis
  • lead troubleshoot production issues and monitoring using SonarQube, ELK stack, Splunk and AppDynamics
  • lead agile frameworks to drive software development best practices for team
  • collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, UI/UX, backend and Product management
  • implement AI-based features using Generative AI models (OpenAI, Stellar, Vertex AI, etc.)
  • lead design, develop, and maintain microservices using JMS MQ, Kafka, and other messaging systems to handle high-throughput, low-latency data
  • optimize services for high scalability, fault tolerance, and performance in cloud environments

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of relevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis role
  • experience working in Financial Services or a large complex and/or global environment
  • working knowledge of Java 8 and above, backend REST APIs
  • experience on Gradle, ECS, ELK, App dynamics, Splunk is a plus
  • expertise on Cloud infrastructure both on-premises and public cloud (i.e., OpenShift, AWS, etc.)
  • expertise to Quality as Code Implementation (i.e. TDD, BDD, Unit Testing, Selenium)
  • expertise to API Management tools
  • subject Matter Expert (SME) in Applications Development
  • consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • sound knowledge of GenAI and automation tools to increase development efficiency and quality
  • experience in data streaming and event-driven architectures is plus

Nice to have:

  • familiarity with financial messaging standards such as ISO20022 and ISO15022 is a plus
  • exposure to AI/ML-driven analytics and reporting tools
