Job Description:

Lead Database Engineer position at Citi focusing on design, development, and optimization of large-scale data solutions. Requires deep understanding of Oracle SQL, Spark ETL, Python, and proven leadership capabilities to build and maintain robust ETL pipelines while ensuring data integrity and performance.

Job Responsibility:

Design, build, and fine-tune high-performance ETL pipelines using Python and Oracle SQL
Lead and mentor a team of data engineers
Partner with stakeholders across the organization to understand data needs
Implement and maintain processes to ensure data quality, integrity, security, and optimal performance
Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering

Requirements:

10+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering or closely related field
Mastery of Oracle SQL including advanced query optimization and performance tuning techniques
Proven experience developing and optimizing ETL processes using Apache Spark
Strong programming skills in Scala and/or Python for data engineering tasks
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams
Solid understanding of data warehousing principles, distributed computing architectures, and cloud platforms
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice to have:

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Knowledge of real-time data processing frameworks such as Kafka
