Reporting to the Country Manager in Turkey and to the Global Senior Legal Counsel you will be responsible for the Legal and Compliance function for the Turkish market, and support the rest of the Legal team on international matters, in a fast-growing, young and exciting environment.
Job Responsibility:
gradually take ownership of legal, compliance, and corporate governance matters relating to the core business in Turkey
manage and advise on the release of product features or new business lines from a legal/regulatory perspective
monitor, review and update the company's and the Docplanner group internal controls and policies in areas such as data protection and anti-bribery, and develop/provide internal training and controls as required
negotiate and manage commercial legal work (contracts for clients, suppliers, partners, website terms and conditions, etc.)
act as legal business partner to various departments
build strong relationships across the organisation
manage outside counsel
partner with HR on day-to-day employee-related matters requiring legal support
manage any litigation processes affecting the Turkish entity
manage and foresee business risks and opportunities by regularly reviewing changes in the regulatory/legal environment
support the rest of Docplanner Group’s Legal team, and senior management, in global projects adapting to Turkish needs where needed and in legal aspects of M&A processes, fundraising efforts, partnerships and other strategic projects
handle matters with external law firms to obtain pragmatic legal advice and help the business areas translate such advice into specific actions
Requirements:
law degree with strong academic credentials
3-5 years of experience as a business lawyer/legal counsel, either in a law firm or in-house (tech company experience a plus)
experience in one or more of the following areas: commercial law, corporate/M&A, corporate governance, finance, tech sector regulation, intellectual property, data protection, healthcare sector regulation
able to work and communicate fluently in English both written and oral (professional proficiency required)
able to make quick decisions and give pragmatic advice with sound business judgment
detail-oriented and well organized
a fire-starter and can clearly demonstrate your ability to be proactive without continuous supervision
strong interpersonal skills
hungry for challenges and seek constant learning / embrace frequent change
