This role will be based at Westerlands Care Village, in Brough. The home has been specially designed to cater to the every need of 83 residents, living with a range of age-related conditions, physical disabilities and mental health conditions, and as such require dignified support from our caring team. Additionally, some of our residents live with Dementia. It is essential that candidates for this role are therefore patient, understanding and respectful of our resident’s individual abilities.
Job Responsibility:
Processing residents personal clothing and household laundry to a high standard within the laundry service
Ensuring that any items that require thermal disinfection are processed correctly and that infection control procedures are strictly adhered to
Ensuring that all items of personal and household laundry are ironed/pressed to a high standard
Ensuring that all items of personal clothing and household linen are in a good state of repair and to bring to the attention of the Hotel Services Manager/Care Home Manager when they are not
Maintaining all areas of the laundry, equipment and linen cupboards in a clean, tidy and hygienic condition, ensuring stock levels are adequate
Remaining professional and courteous at all times with residents, colleagues, external professionals, family members and visitors to the home
Following any health & safety procedures required of you and to ensure that any health and safety risks are reported to the Manager immediately
Any other reasonable duties, as requested by your Manager, to meet the changing needs of the business
Requirements:
Genuine caring nature and a desire to make a real difference for our residents
Patient, understanding and respectful of our resident’s individual abilities
Understanding of dementia would be beneficial
Nice to have:
Prior experience as a Laundry Assistant is desirable
