Job Description:

You will work closely with the Founder and Ranga Leadership team to design and plan outdoor spaces in a way that is functional, aesthetically pleasing, and sustainable. Byron Bay Ranga incorporates Shinto Principles into all landscape projects. Considering various factors such as environmental, social, and cultural aspects to create spaces that serve both the needs of people and the environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Participate in discussions and meetings with clients, project managers and engineers to identify their needs and preferences, drawing designs and creating models, and presenting proposals to clients with sustainability and environment conditions in mind
  • Lead collaboration with contractors and other external parties, obtaining certifications, and performing research, reports and analysis as needed
  • Prepare detailed documentation, site plans, 3D Renders and graphic representations of plans using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software
  • Lead DA project submissions with local councils. Understanding all zoning, construction
  • Undertake a range of projects and manage resources across design, planning and development to support landscape design issues, projects and major developments
  • Prepare clear and thorough client centred documentation to support informed and accountable decision making and clear understanding of risks and successes
  • Develop and implement innovative, technically sound and proficient advice and technical solutions in order to deliver tailored and high-quality services to clients

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field
  • Proficient in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite) and familiarity with GIS tools
  • Strong understanding of plants, including their growth habits, maintenance needs, and suitability for specific environments
  • Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interactions, presentations, and project documentation
  • Knowledge of sustainable and eco-friendly design practices
  • Previous experience in landscape design and project management is preferred, with a portfolio demonstrating successful projects
  • Prior Experience in Pool design and construction application needs is preferred
  • Live in close proximity to travel around the Northern Rivers for site inspections and meetings
  • Have worked under an experienced Landscape Architect / designer

Nice to have:

  • Prior Experience in Pool design and construction application needs is preferred
  • Previous experience in landscape design and project management is preferred, with a portfolio demonstrating successful projects
