Job Description:

A Laboratory Technician is required for a worldwide chemical manufacturer in Colchester to manage the quality control of the laboratory, with a defined progression plan for career growth.

Job Responsibility:

Supporting the day-to-day function of a laboratory environment
guaranteeing all raw material deliveries are accurately labelled and recorded onto the LMS
inspecting raw materials to meet customer specifications and quality standards
sample testing competitors' products and reporting findings
dispatching samples to clients and confirming receipt
investigating and managing non-conformities through root cause analysis
escalating concerns that negatively affect the business
ensuring stock rotation follows SOPs.

Requirements:

Proven experience working within a technical laboratory environment
ideally educated to degree level in a chemical or biological discipline
knowledge of ISO 9001 and 18001/45001
strong attention to detail
methodical approach
excellent verbal and written communication skills
capable in IT packages like Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Nice to have:

Any knowledge of ISO 9001 and 18001/45001
background in polyesters, chemicals, coatings, additives, resins, paints, epoxy, food, or pharmaceutical.
