Job Description:

We are recruiting for Key Stage 4 Teaching Assistants to work within secondary schools across Sefton. This is a critical stage for students, and we need reliable staff to help Year 10 and 11 pupils achieve their best possible results in their final years of compulsory education.

Job Responsibility:

  • Breaking down complex GCSE lesson content into manageable steps for students
  • Supporting pupils with their coursework and revision folders across all subjects
  • Providing formal exam support by acting as an invigilator, reader, or scribe
  • Helping students stay calm and focused during high-pressure assessment periods
  • Assisting with vocational subjects and practical learning activities
  • Working with students to improve their attendance and engagement in school life
  • Guiding pupils through their post-16 options, such as college or training applications
  • Bridging the gap for students who struggle with specific academic or social barriers

Requirements:

  • A mature and professional approach to working with older teenagers
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills to support the GCSE curriculum
  • Flexibility to work in different school settings across the Sefton area
  • A valid Enhanced DBS check (or the willingness to start an application today)
