Job Description:

As a Kitchen Steward, you will maintain the cleanliness and efficiency of the kitchen and dining operations, ensuring items are cleaned, polished, and returned to their proper locations. Key responsibilities include compliance with hygiene standards, cleaning supplies, and fostering a collaborative environment. It’s a part-time role with rotating shifts at The Westin and Four Points by Sheraton Brisbane.

Job Responsibility:

Efficiently manage the dishwashing process, ensuring all equipment, utensils, and stipulated areas are cleaned to the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness
Ensure timely and thorough cleaning of operating supplies, refuse disposal, and back-of-house areas, meeting stringent cleanliness and sanitation standards
Guarantee 100% compliance with all local legislation, health, and safety standards, and company policies to uphold operational excellence
Attend all relevant meetings, actively contribute to discussions, and ensure timely follow-up on action items
Share key updates and communication points with the team to ensure alignment and smooth operations
Assist in maintaining an organized back-of-house environment, ensuring all supplies are well-maintained and ready for use
Proactively identify and address any maintenance or operational issues.

Requirements:

Strong attention to detail, ensuring all cleaning and hygiene tasks are completed to the highest standards
Ability to build positive relationships with team members, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment
Genuine enthusiasm for the hospitality industry and dedication to contributing to a smooth kitchen operation
Good verbal communication skills to effectively coordinate with kitchen staff and other departments
Be available to work over a 7-day rotating roster which will include working evenings, early starts, public holidays, and weekends.
