Job Description:

We are looking for dedicated Teaching Assistants to join our Sefton team to support students in Years 7, 8, and 9. We have ongoing requirements for staff who are passionate about helping younger secondary students navigate their first few years of high school.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supporting students in the classroom as they move from primary to secondary level
  • Explaining lesson tasks clearly to ensure students stay on track with their learning
  • Leading small group sessions for pupils who need extra help with literacy or numeracy
  • Assisting with the setup of classroom resources and learning materials for the teacher
  • Helping students build their social skills and confidence within the school community
  • Providing 1-on-1 attention to pupils who require additional guidance during lessons
  • Acting as a reader or scribe for students during their internal termly assessments
  • Ensuring a safe and productive learning environment for all Key Stage 3 learners

Requirements:

  • A patient and approachable personality that connects well with 11-14 year olds
  • Strong communication skills and a reliable work ethic
  • The ability to travel to various school locations throughout the Sefton borough
  • An Enhanced DBS check or the willingness to apply for one through Randstad
