An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Project Engineer to join Service Stream in Clayton South or Epping. We are seeking a motivated Junior Project Engineer to support the delivery of water infrastructure projects under an active water contract. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer looking to gain hands-on experience across project delivery, site coordination, and commercial administration within a collaborative project team. You will work closely with Project Managers, Senior Engineers, and site teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
Job Responsibility:
Assist in the planning, coordination, and delivery of water projects
Consult and coordinate with other key personal in the efficient management of resources and mitigation of risks to drive positive project outcomes
Support site activities including progress tracking, inspections, and subcontractor coordination
Assist with project documentation, including ITPs, SWMS, schedules, and reports
Monitor project costs, variations, and procurement activities
Support compliance with safety, environmental, and quality requirements
Liaise with internal stakeholders, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
Contribute to risk management and continuous improvement initiatives
Maintain accurate project records and systems
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
0–3 years’ experience in a project engineering or site-based role (water or utilities preferred)
Exposure to water infrastructure projects (pipelines, pump stations, treatment plants, or similar) is advantageous
Strong understanding of construction methodologies and project controls
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project)
Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical specifications
