Job Description:

Are you a networking professional looking to apply your technical skills within a dynamic project environment? Our Calgary client is seeking a motivated Network Technician for an initial 6-month contract with a strong potential for extension. This is a unique opportunity to move beyond a standard desk role and gain hands-on experience with equipment assembly, staging, and field trials. You will play a vital part in preparing and testing the infrastructure that keeps large-scale industrial operations connected and secure.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform the assembly, configuration, and staging of networking equipment for deployment to field sites
  • Use technical drawings to guide the testing and verification of telecom infrastructure
  • Maintain the lifecycle lab and staging areas to ensure all equipment is ready for production
  • Provide technical support for project field trials and troubleshoot hardware during the installation phase
  • Complete detailed documentation for all installed devices and project operations
  • Update internal processes and procedures to reflect current hardware standards and workflows
  • Manage inventory control and ensure all materials are correctly labeled and tracked

Requirements:

  • Completion of a two year technical diploma in Computer Networking or a related field
  • Strong foundational knowledge of Cisco networking and IP technologies
  • Previous experience in network operations or hardware configuration
  • Valid CCNA certification or equivalent technical proficiency
  • Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs multiple times per day for equipment staging
