Job Description:

Janitor will be responsible for keeping exteriors, common areas, vacant units, sidewalks, and alleyways of property in a clean and safe condition. Assist in other types of maintenance as necessary. Reports to the Maintenance Director or Property Manager.

Job Responsibility:

  • Clean all common areas and exterior areas of buildings according to daily work schedule
  • note problem areas that need to be reported to Maintenance Foreman
  • Work closely under the direction of maintenance or and Property Manager to assure timely vacant unit turnover
  • Assist as necessary regarding routine maintenance and emergency assistance, snow removal etc
  • Clean and assist in the maintenance of grounds to assure that development maintains high quality curb appeal
  • Follow weekly and monthly schedules regarding procedures for floor waxing, carpet cleaning, boiler room cleaning etc
  • Disinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, office tools and phones
  • Maintain cleaning inventory, placing orders for new products when needed
  • Replace air filters and maintain HVAC systems
  • Empty trash and recycling bins
  • Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
  • Make adjustments and minor repairs
  • Stock and maintain supply rooms
  • Cooperate with the rest of the staff
  • Follow all health and safety regulations

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of work experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to manage your time efficiently
  • Available to work on holidays, weekends, and evenings
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Handle basic maintenance, building repairs, cleaning, and other janitorial work
  • Ability to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies
  • Handle basic cleaning equipment
