The Information Technology (IT) Supervisor of AMI Technology is a key leadership role responsible for managing the support, development, and implementation of metering and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) applications. This individual will lead a production support team, overseeing the day-to-day operations of our AMI technology landscape to ensure the delivery of stable, secure, and high-performing solutions that enable efficient business operations and exceptional customer service.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the day-to-day operations of the AMI technology applications support team, ensuring consistent and high-quality service delivery
Coordinate application maintenance, production support, and release management activities across the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) portfolio
Work with the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Technology ecosystem, including, but not limited to the Siemens EnergyIP Meter Data Management System, Itron UtilityIQ application, and associated adapters to ensure ongoing connectivity
Oversee the technical relationship with the Itron Operations Optimizer Saas solution
Maintain familiarity with SAP S/4HANA and applications hosted on Microsoft Azure Cloud to support integration and operational stability
Monitor system performance and reliability, ensuring alignment with internal standards and service level agreements (SLAs)
Manage relationships with cloud-hosted and managed service providers, ensuring contractual obligations and SLAs are met
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand operational needs and ensure timely resolution of issues
Support the successful implementation of capital projects and facilitate smooth transitions to steady-state support
Contribute to the development of application roadmaps focused on resiliency, scalability, and long-term business value
Assist in managing budgets for maintenance, services, and projects in partnership with the Product Line Manager
Evaluate root cause solutions to reduce technical debt and improve system stability
Support contract development, vendor negotiations, and ongoing vendor management activities
Promote a culture of accountability, customer-centric service, and continuous improvement across the team
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a focus in computer science, computer information systems, or equivalent work experience
8-10 years of experience in Information Technology
Proven experience leading teams and overseeing day-to-day operations of enterprise applications
Proven experience leading and coaching support teams, including performance management and vendor oversight
Expertise in managing production support for mission-critical systems with a focus on operational stability and incident resolution
Familiarity with metering systems, AMI technologies, and utility industry applications
Familiarity with Siemens EnergyIP Meter Data Management System, Itron UtilityIQ, and related adapters
Familiarity with SAP S/4 HANA, including SAP Device Management and Billing functionality
Experience with applications deployed in Azure Cloud environments
Knowledge of integration adapters and middleware supporting connectivity across AMI systems
Experience managing outsourced IT services and cloud/hosted vendor relationships, including SLA tracking and compliance
Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required
Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary
