The IT Asset Manager will be responsible for tracking, managing, and optimizing all IT assets, including hardware, software, licenses, and vendor contracts. This role ensures assets are used efficiently, compliant with licensing agreements, and aligned with the organization’s operational and financial goals.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain an accurate inventory of IT hardware, software, and licenses across all facilities
Manage the full lifecycle of IT assets: procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal
Oversee software licensing compliance and ensure renewals are managed proactively
Partner with vendors to negotiate contracts, warranties, and support agreements
Collaborate with Finance and Procurement on budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization
Develop policies, standards, and processes for IT asset management
Ensure secure and compliant asset disposal to protect organizational data
Provide regular reports on asset utilization, costs, and compliance status
Support IT audits by maintaining accurate and auditable records
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of experience in IT Asset Management, IT operations, or procurement
Experience with ITAM tools (ServiceNow, Lansweeper, SCCM, or similar)
Knowledge of software licensing models and vendor management
Familiarity with ITIL/IT Service Management best practices
Strong organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills
Experience in healthcare IT and HIPAA compliance preferred
Nice to have:
IT Asset Management certification (CAMP, CHAMP, or IAITAM)
Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, and cloud subscription management
Familiarity with hardware lifecycle planning in multi-site environments
Understanding of cybersecurity best practices related to asset management
Experience implementing or optimizing CMDB (Configuration Management Database)
Strong Excel and data analysis skills for reporting and forecasting
Ability to train staff on asset management processes and policies
