Job Description:

Responsible for setting up interventional radiology (IR) rooms specific to the study being conducted. Utilizes customer service skills while interacting with patients as well as family members to create a caring atmosphere during their visit. Progresses towards proficient and competent performance with regards to interventional procedures, fluoroscopy room equipment, digital subtraction, inventory, power injections and post processing tools.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepares room and patient specific to the exam to be performed
  • Arranges equipment, trays, supplies, position patients, and determine proper exposure factors to produce a high-quality image
  • Utilizes electronic patient information systems to verify patient name, date, appropriate exam, and any special exam specific comments from the provider
  • Understands and practices the Dual patient identifier procedure
  • Observes each patient’s status and interprets appropriate information needed to meet age-specific needs
  • Transfers patients to and from imaging tables using assistive devices such as ARJO lift, transfer boards, hover mats
  • Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly identifying images and ensuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology required
  • 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred
  • Licensed Radiologic Technologist upon hire required
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification with CE credits upon hire required
