Job Responsibility:

  • Responsible for setting up interventional radiology (IR) rooms specific to the study being conducted
  • Utilizes customer service skills while interacting with patients as well as family members to create a caring atmosphere during their visit
  • Prepares room and patient specific to the exam to be performed
  • Arranges equipment, trays, supplies, position patients, and determine proper exposure factors in order to produce a high quality image
  • Utilizes electronic patient information systems to verify patient name, date, appropriate exam, and any special exam specific comments from the provider
  • Understands and practices the Dual patient identifier procedure
  • Observes each patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to meet his or her age-specific needs
  • Transfers patients to and from imaging tables using assistive devices such as ARJO lift, transferboards, hover mats
  • Completes and bills for studies accurately
  • Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly identifying images and assuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly

Requirements:

  • One year experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred
  • Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology required
  • Maintains current NYS licensure and ARRT certification with CE credits as required
