The purpose of this internship is to support the Veterinary Workforce Development Technical Team in the planning, coordination and delivery of workshops, events, online meetings and webinars. The intern will also contribute to analytical, reporting and knowledge management activities related to veterinary workforce development at the regional and national levels.
Job Responsibility:
Support the planning, organisation and follow-up of in-person and virtual workshops, meetings, webinars and technical missions, including logistical coordination and documentation
Assist in scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and background materials, coordinating participants and managing related correspondence
Provide real-time coordination support during online meetings and webinars to ensure smooth delivery and participant engagement
Provide operational support for online meetings and webinars using commonly used virtual meeting platforms and collaboration tools
Assist in the preparation of presentations, shared documents and virtual workspaces
Support basic troubleshooting related to connectivity, audio-visual settings and participant access
Contribute to desk reviews, data collection and synthesis related to veterinary workforce development in selected Members or regions
Assist in the preparation of background notes, briefing materials and short analytical summaries to inform technical discussions and decision-making
Support the drafting, consolidation and formatting of workshop reports, mission reports, technical publications and learning notes
Contribute to the organisation and management of project documentation and knowledge products
Support quality assurance of written outputs in English and French, ensuring clarity, consistency and alignment with WOAH editorial standards
Requirements:
Recent graduate or final-year student in a relevant discipline, such as veterinary science, public health, international development, education, social sciences or a related field
Academic or professional experience related to workforce development is desirable
Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate meetings and manage multiple tasks in an organised and timely manner
Proficiency in commonly used digital tools and platforms, including virtual meeting applications, collaborative document-sharing systems and presentation software
Ability to collect, synthesise and present information clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences
Experience in drafting reports, briefing notes or analytical summaries is desirable
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French (both required)
Strong organisational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment
Proactive, adaptable and able to meet deadlines
Demonstrated interest in animal health systems, public health and capacity building
Nice to have:
Knowledge of Spanish would be an asset
