We design processes for the production of electric drive systems and power electronics — particularly modern power semiconductor modules with a focus on materials and polymer technology. Our department “E‑Drive, Power Electronics and Transmission Development” at the Kassel site transforms innovations into economically viable products and continuously advances existing solutions.
Job Responsibility:
Conducting research for preliminary experiments and material analyses within manufacturing process development for electric drive systems and power electronics
Pre‑treating complex surfaces for polymer‑related processes in the environment of modern, high‑efficiency inverter systems for electric drives
Screening technologies related to polymer/materials engineering
Performing manufacturing trials (internal or external) and evaluating the results
Analyzing materials in the laboratory, documenting findings, and presenting as well as discussing them within the team
Requirements:
Enrolled students in mechanical engineering, materials science, polymer engineering, chemistry, or comparable study programs from the 5th bachelor semester onward (master’s studies preferred)
Good to very good academic performance and strong interest in applied research and practical testing
Strong analytical skills for evaluating laboratory results (preferred)
