Job Description:

US Non-Accredited Foreign Graduate position at CVS Health for foreign pharmacy graduates to complete required US Internship hours. This role supports pharmacy teams in delivering health care services while developing skills for increasing responsibility. The position involves working under a preceptor to complete a learning plan, assist with pharmacy operations, ensure accurate prescription fulfillment, provide patient care, and develop business acumen and leadership skills.

Job Responsibility:

Complete required US Internship hours and apply didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice
Complete mixed modality learning plan under direction of preceptor
Assist pharmacy team to ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly
Ensure patients' prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
Operate as part of pharmacy team through consistent application of Standard Operating Procedures
Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in all customer interactions
Contribute to safe and inclusive culture
Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off)
Create heartfelt and personalized moments while serving patients
Offer immunizations and other services
Demonstrate compassionate care by solving or escalating patient problems
Offer to counsel and field medical questions under pharmacist supervision
Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers
Call prescribers to clarify prescriptions
Provide in-the-moment coaching and training to pharmacy team members
Complete basic inventory activities
Contribute to a high-performing team
Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs
Travel to stores in the market as needed
Understand and comply with all relevant laws and regulations
Deliver additional patient health care services (immunizations, point-of-care testing)

Requirements:

Foreign Graduate from a Non-US Accredited college or school of pharmacy prior to beginning US Non-Accredited Foreign Graduate Training Program at CVS
FPGEC certification
Pharmacist licensure in the state in which the position is based within 120 days of completion of US Intern hours
Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
Notice and understand patients' reactions and respond appropriately
Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
Utilize active listening skills
Ability to use math to solve pharmacy problems
Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action
Physical ability to be mobile and remain upright for extended periods, lift items, reach overhead, move fingers repetitively, extend hands and arms, adjust machines to exact positions, stoop, and have close visual acuity
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently

Nice to have:

1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to become immunization certified
Ability to work in home store and across the market in other locations
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
