Job Description:

Sena Affordable Communities, part of the L+M Fund Management team, is the L+M group that works on national preservation projects, outside the NYC area. Our team works to preserve existing affordable housing by acquiring and rehabilitating affordable housing properties. Our summer intern is expected to work independently and collectively, as part of a team. An understanding of real estate finance is required (and successful applicants may be asked to demonstrate this through a brief exercise). L+M offers a comprehensive intern program. During the ten-week program, interns will gain exposure to the industry, tour several jobsites, and make a presentation on lessons learned to senior management.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support acquisitions efforts, which may include evaluating offering memorandums, responding to Request for Proposals (RFPs), preparing investment analyses/memos, and providing investment recommendations
  • Assisting with finance closings, including addressing lender and investor document checklists
  • Collecting due diligence materials
  • Financial modeling and analysis to evaluate and structure potential transactions
  • Coordination of meetings of project teams
  • Assisting with consultant agreements
  • Site visits and market analysis

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older college student
  • Pursuing graduate college degree
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Nice to have:

Majors in Real Estate Finance and Investments are a plus
