Job Description:

The CompTIA Security+ (SY0-701) Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging cybersecurity instruction aligned with CompTIA Security+ exam objectives. The instructor will prepare learners to pass the SY0-701 certification exam while developing foundational, real-world cybersecurity skills applicable to entry-level security roles.

Job Responsibility:

Create a positive, professional and inclusive learning environment
Teaching select lessons in accordance with learning objectives and fidelity to session plans provided by Simplilearn
Employing strategies known to meet the needs of adult learners
Managing regular communication with students to align on progress, expectations, celebrate milestones and address concern areas
Providing individualized student support during synchronous class sessions and outside class
Evaluate student performance and progression toward competencies based on course deliverables and course rubrics
Providing constructive and timely feedback to students
Assisting in the management of Performance Action Plans for individual students who need additional support
Serve as role model for students and as an ambassador for our brand
Exhibiting professionalism and an ethical and empathetic approach when engaging with Simplilearn staff, students, and the public
Promoting student retention and amplify student satisfaction
Encouraging teamwork and seek feedback for continuous improvement
Deliver instructor-led training aligned with CompTIA Security+ (SY0-701) exam objectives
Teach core cybersecurity concepts
Facilitate hands-on labs, demonstrations, and scenario-based learning
Explain technical concepts clearly to learners with varying IT experience levels
Prepare students for CompTIA-style questions, including performance-based questions (PBQs)

Requirements:

CompTIA Security+ certification (SY0-701 or equivalent)
Additional certifications (Network+, CySA+, CEH, CISSP, or similar)
Experience teaching certification-focused courses
Experience with hands-on labs or virtual lab environments
Industry experience in SOC, IT operations, or security roles
Cybersecurity Fundamentals (CIA triad, defense-in-depth, zero trust
Risk assessment, threat modeling, mitigation strategies
Security policies, standards, and governance)
Network & Infrastructure Security (TCP/IP, OSI model, common ports and protocols
Firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, proxies
Secure network design and segmentation
Wireless security concepts)
Systems, Cloud & Application Security (Windows, Linux, and macOS security fundamentals
Virtualization and container security concepts
Cloud security models (IaaS, SaaS, shared responsibility)
Secure application and API fundamentals)
Identity & Access Management (IAM) (Authentication vs authorization
MFA, SSO, federation
Role-based and attribute-based access control
Privileged access management (PAM))
Threats, Attacks & Vulnerabilities (Malware types and attack vectors
Social engineering techniques
Vulnerability scanning concepts
Threat intelligence fundamentals)
