In this full-time role within the Randstad Operational specialization of manufacturing & logistics, you will leverage your technical expertise to set up, operate, and maintain injection molding machines. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring the entire molding process, from loading raw materials to inspecting finished parts. Your keen eye for detail will be crucial for identifying and resolving any production issues, making necessary adjustments to machine parameters, and ensuring that every product meets strict specifications. Job Responsibility:
Set up, operate, and tend to plastic injection molding machines according to work orders and setup sheets
Monitor machine operations, including pressure, temperature, and cycle times, to ensure proper functioning and product quality
Load plastic materials into machine hoppers and ensure a continuous supply for production runs
Inspect finished products for defects, such as flash, short shots, or surface imperfections, using gauges and visual checks
Perform minor troubleshooting and adjustments to machinery to correct production flaws
Trim excess material (flash) from parts using hand tools and grinders
Complete necessary production and quality control documentation accurately and in a timely manner
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, adhering to all company safety protocols and procedures
Collaborate with the production team and supervisors to meet manufacturing goals and deadlines
Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of molds and equipment to ensure optimal performance
Requirements:
Proven experience as an Injection Molder or Injection Molding Machine Operator in a manufacturing environment
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of the plastic injection molding process
Ability to read and interpret work orders, setup sheets, and technical specifications
Proficiency in using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers for quality assurance
Excellent attention to detail to ensure high-quality output and identify product defects
Basic troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve minor machine and process issues
Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety guidelines
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Good communication skills to report issues and collaborate with colleagues
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform tasks that may require lifting
A minimum of 1-2 years of direct experience as an Injection Molder or in a very similar role
Must be able to work the continental night shift schedule (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.)
High school diploma or equivalent is required
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Ability to perform the physical demands of the job, including standing for long hours and lifting materials as needed
A reliable and punctual work ethic with a proven track record of dependability
Nice to have:
Demonstrated knowledge of various plastic resins and their properties is a strong asset
