Job Responsibility:

  • Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas
  • Empties waste baskets
  • cleans floors, rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
  • Dusts all areas that are empty or cleared
  • replenishes bathroom supplies
  • washes walls, ceiling, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills
  • Vacuums all entranceways daily and other carpet areas as needed
  • cleans screens and filters
  • operates a floor scrubber, cleans water fountains
  • replaces light bulbs
  • Polishes metalwork
  • transports trash and waste to disposal area
  • cleans lint, dust, oil, and grease from machines, overhead pipes, and conveyors
  • scrubs processing tanks and vats
  • applies floor dry material where necessary
  • picks up reusable scrap for salvage and stores in containers
  • picks up refuse from plant grounds and operates industrial truck to transport materials within plant
  • Starts pumps to force cleaning solution through production machinery, piping, or vats in an industrial setting
  • starts pumps to lubricate machines
  • Notifies management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment
  • Adheres to company/customer safety procedures
  • May replace air-conditioner filters and clean kitchen and/or lunchroom

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to: read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
  • perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
  • apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions
  • deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables

Nice to have:

  • One to three year of related experience
  • Must be a team player, organized, self-motivated and able to prioritize
