As a member of our EAP team, you’ll provide a 24/7 confidential support service via telephone, virtual and face to face counselling and support, for issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, debt advice and family issues. In your role, you’ll utilise technology to stay connected to the team environment, but also engage with home-based working, delivering structured counselling to employees across public and private sector organisations.
Job Responsibility:
Accept and manage referrals in line with agreed service protocols
Assess and support individuals with common mental health difficulties, empowering them to self-manage recovery and triaging to internal or external services where appropriate
Conduct client-centred assessments to identify goals for change or recovery, alongside robust risk assessment for self-harm or harm to others
Provide in-the-moment daily support for clients seeking low-intensity interventions, using counselling skills, psychoeducation and assessment techniques
Make informed decisions on the suitability of new referrals, in line with The Employee Resilience Company referral protocols
Offer clear information and guidance to clients entering the service, including self-help CBT resources and information on pharmacological treatments, delivered face-to-face, by phone or through digital channels
Share relevant, appropriate supporting information with managers or key contacts within client organisations when required
Work to an agreed activity contract, balancing client contacts and clinical sessions to minimise waiting times and maintain an accessible service
Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings to discuss referrals and ongoing client care
Accurately record clinical activity and outcomes using CORE-Net, ensuring data is used to inform clinical decisions and onward referrals
Maintain clear, compliant clinical records in line with service protocols
Collaborate closely with colleagues to ensure effective step-up and step-down pathways within a stepped-care model
Integrate work-related and employment factors into the therapeutic process

Requirements:
Diploma in Counselling and or Psychotherapy (minimum Level 4)
Registered or accredited membership with BACP or a similar professional body (essential)
Experience working in a fast-paced environment
An enhanced DBS check, or willingness for us to process one on your behalf

Nice to have:
Experience within the mental health or EAP sector
Experience carrying out psychological assessments using validated assessment tools
