Join Us in Shaping the Next Generation of Chipset Technology! We are looking for a skilled IC Test and Qualification Engineer to join our chipset development organisation. You will play a key role in ensuring that our integrated circuits meet the highest standards for reliability, performance, and manufacturability - ultimately contributing to innovative products that improve quality of life for millions of users worldwide. Welcome to Chipset, a key division of our Research and Development department. We specialize in the creation of chipsets for our renowned hearing instruments and accessories. Our continuous pursuit of technological quality enables us to deliver professional-grade solutions in DSP processing, audio quality, connectivity, AI integration, and re-chargeability - all in compact form factors with minimal power consumption. The Role As an IC Test and Qualification Engineer, you will manage qualification activities for both new and in‑production custom ICs. For new chips, you will coordinate with the chip broker and foundry on back‑end processing and develop an effective, cost‑efficient wafer test program with an external test partner. You will also work with specialised design service providers to meet medical‑grade qualification requirements. For in‑production ICs, you will monitor yield performance and, when needed, lead projects to transfer wafer testing to alternative test houses. Because our chips are designed in‑house, you will act as a key link between the design team and downstream test, screening, and qualification activities. Test and qualification work at Demant is closely integrated with our IC lab. In this role, you will collaborate with the lab team, gain hands‑on experience with silicon evaluation, and contribute to our full silicon verification flow.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and implement test plans for IC validation, reliability, and qualification
Analyse test data and translate findings into clear recommendations for improvement
Collaborate with IC designers, product engineers, and external partners (e.g., foundries, brokers, OSATs)
Document test procedures, reports, and qualification results
Ensure compliance with relevant standards and internal quality requirements
Requirements:
A degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Physics, or a related field
Experience with IC testing, semiconductor qualification, or silicon validation
Knowledge of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, SMUs, logic analysers, spectrum analysers, etc.
Ability to analyse complex data sets and identify root causes
A structured, collaborative mindset and strong communication skills
Nice to have:
Experience with reliability standards (e.g., HTOL, HAST, ESD, Latch up) is an advantage
Programming or scripting skills (Python, MATLAB, or similar) are a plus
