Job Description:

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to join a business that owns and regulates their own multi-utility network across the UK. This company has completed many high profile projects within the electrical, water and wastewater, heating, cooling and hot water sectors of the industry. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the electrical connections from hosting DNOs as required by the Project Delivery Team and any Point of Connection works within the company. You’ll report directly to the Head of UK Connections and directly support the activities of the Project Delivery and Asset Management Teams across the electrical projects.

Job Responsibility:

  • Ensure all company policies, procedures & safety rules are followed in connection with planned electrical projects
  • Carryout live electrical energisations of new equipment owned and controlled by the business
  • Issue safety documentation on owned and controlled electrical networks if required
  • Ensure all Single Line Diagrams for the new connections are validated and new equipment is correctly identified and labelled
  • Ensure all work, tasks and activities are carried out by a team with suitable requirements and that the team follow and adhere to all requirements on site
  • Carryout appropriate dead testing & pre-energisation inspections ensuring all are completed and signed off by an appropriate Authorised Person under the companies Health & Safety regulations

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a DNO, IDNO or ICP business on their High and Low Voltage projects
  • Good knowledge of utilities industry
  • Experience of HV switching to 11KV or 33KV
  • Previous track record of the operation of Electrical Utility Assets
  • Understanding of regulatory standards applicable to the Electricity Industry and the processes required to be compliant with them
