We are looking for a dedicated Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team in Durham, North Carolina. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting HR operations and ensuring smooth employee processes within our non-profit organization. Job Responsibility:
Assist in managing HR administrative tasks, including maintaining accurate records and documentation
Support the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a seamless transition into the organization
Utilize HR information systems (HRIS) to maintain employee data and generate reports
Collaborate with team members to address employee relations issues and provide support as needed
Conduct background checks and verify employment credentials for new staff
Coordinate HR-related communications and ensure timely dissemination of information
Monitor compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements
Respond to employee inquiries and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures
Participate in the development and enhancement of HR processes to improve efficiency
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism
Requirements:
Proven experience in HR administration or a similar role
Familiarity with HRIS platforms and their functionalities
Strong understanding of onboarding processes and employment verification
Knowledge of employee relations practices and strategies
Ability to perform background checks and ensure compliance with legal standards
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
