We are looking for a dedicated Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team on a contract basis in Santa Barbara, California. In this role, you will provide critical administrative support to the HR department and executive team, ensuring smooth daily operations. This position offers a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in staffing, recruiting, and HR administration while working in a collaborative, on-site environment.
Job Responsibility:
Organize and maintain digital records for efficient filing and retrieval
Assist the executive team and HR group with administrative tasks to streamline processes
Schedule and coordinate interviews with candidates and hiring managers
Support HR functions such as onboarding, employee relations, and background checks
Utilize HR information systems (HRIS) to manage employee data and ensure accuracy
Perform general office duties, including managing correspondence and scheduling
Use Microsoft Outlook for communication, scheduling, and task management
Help ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Provide exceptional customer service to employees and candidates
Contribute to the overall efficiency of the HR team through proactive support
Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar administrative or HR role
Familiarity with HR administration processes, including onboarding and employee relations
Experience using HRIS platforms to manage employee data
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook for scheduling and communication
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and prioritize responsibilities
Comfortable interacting with people and providing excellent service
