Job Responsibility:

  • Split time effectively between office-based work and hands-on site presence across the yard, production areas, fleet operations, and contractor activities
  • Develop and maintain risk assessments and safe systems of work in line with evolving operational needs
  • Assist with contractor management, including permits to work, safe isolation procedures, and CDM compliance
  • Carry out audits, inspections, and SHE observations, identifying improvement opportunities and ensuring compliance with internal policies and legal standards

  • Monitor workplace transport activities including HGVs, FLTs, and telehandlers, ensuring safe practices
  • Deliver toolbox talks and staff safety briefings to reinforce safety culture
  • Support incident investigations and assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of utilities safety, site services, and operational controls

Requirements:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent Level 3 qualification)
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar SHE role, ideally within manufacturing, logistics, or heavy industry
  • Confident in overseeing contractor safety, permits to work, and site-based risk control
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant regulations such as LOLER, PUWER, CDM, and environmental compliance requirements
  • Practical, adaptable and capable of engaging with teams on the ground to drive positive change
  • A collaborative, proactive approach with excellent communication skills
What we offer:
  • 32 days’ holiday (including bank holidays)
  • Company pension scheme
  • Referral programme
  • Employee rewards, discounts and wellbeing support platform
  • Health & Wellbeing Programme including private medical and dental insurance
