Job Description:

Providing housing and recovery support with a goal of achieving independent living. Working in a Psychologically Informed Environment within a female-only housing facility.

Job Responsibility:

  • Help women with diverse needs, ranging from those in early recovery to those preparing for independent living
  • Provide housing and recovery support to women with histories of failed accommodation placements, substance misuse, criminality, and challenging behaviours
  • Support vulnerable female residents who have experienced male-perpetrated abuse and trauma
  • Help coordinate cases, assess needs, create support plans, and deliver structured interventions to promote wellbeing, active citizenship, and alternatives to substance use
  • Collaborate with staff and external partners to create recovery support systems and plans

Requirements:

  • Passion for working with people affected by addiction
  • Experience or understanding of supporting people to develop personal strengths and sustain tenancy within a supported housing environment
  • Specialist harm reduction experience
  • Experience of developing partnerships and working collaboratively with other organisations
  • An understanding of the harmful effects associated with drug and alcohol misuse and offending in relation to health, social welfare, housing, employability and personal relationships
  • Must be of the same sex as the residents (female)
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends

Nice to have:

  • A coaching/counselling/Health and Social Care qualification
  • Experience of working with people with complex needs including challenging or negative behaviour, substance misuse and/or criminal offending backgrounds and supporting them to make changes to their lives
