Job Description:

The City of Chandler Community Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Head Lifeguard (part-time, temporary, non-benefited). This position serves at the discretion of the department director. The position is scheduled to work morning, afternoon, and evening programming shifts, including weekends.

Job Responsibility:

  • Train and coach employees
  • Lead a Junior Lifeguard program
  • Prioritize daily work assignments
  • Perform daily duties in the most efficient manner

Requirements:

  • 1 year of High School
  • 1 year of experience as a lifeguard and swimming instructor
  • A nationally recognized Lifeguard Certification
  • Swim Lesson Instructor Certification within 2 months of hire/promotion
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work

Nice to have:

  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • A Lifeguard Instructor Certification

  • Accrue 1 hour of paid Statutory Sick Leave (SSL) for every 30 hours worked, eligible for use immediately following accrual
