Job Description:

Meta is seeking an experienced Hardware leader with a background in electrical engineering, product design, and complex system design to lead our HW Sustaining Engineering team. As the head of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, you will define and implement workflows for developing and supporting the next-generation of custom wearable systems. As an expert in your engineering field, you will supervise the sustaining efforts of our AI glasses, smart cases, and wearable products.

Job Responsibility:

  • Intake PRQs from researchers, engineers, and product managers
  • Liaise between researchers, mechanical, electrical, and software engineers
  • Inspire and lead electrical and mechanical engineering projects, providing technical guidance and oversight
  • Mentor and manage a team of mechanical engineers and other engineering managers to achieve project goals and validation
  • Collaborate with key partners (Research, Engineering, Leadership, Operations, Legal, Facilities, etc.) to support new and ongoing projects
  • Determine project priorities and feasibility
  • Manage project meetings, schedules, milestones, identify risks, and develop mitigation plans, and delivery to ensure timely completion
  • Design, simulate, prototype, and test complex systems combining electronics, mechanical parts, optics, and software. Provide individual technical contributions in your area of expertise as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 12+ years of hardware experience in mechanical, electrical systems, and/or software
  • 7+ years of managing technical teams or leading technical projects
  • Proven track record in technology & product development
  • Experience leading mechanical design from concept to manufacture, assembly, and test
  • Experience working closely with JDM manufacturing partners
